About the job

Opportunity Summary:

In District C’s Teamship program, teams of students solve real problems for real businesses. As we grow, we need a dynamic and mission-aligned person to help us expand our network of business partners—those amazing companies and inspaniduals who volunteer their time to provide authentic problems for students in the program to solve.

We’re looking for a Partnerships Manager to join our small but mighty team and become the 9th full time team member. You’ll be at the forefront of our outreach and engagement work:

  • Recruiting, energizing, and supporting business partners to help us bring Teamship to more students nationwide
  • Reporting to our Senior Partnerships Manager and collaborating closely with the full District C team
  • Playing a critical role in driving our growth and expanding our reach

This is a remote role. District C is based in North Carolina and has in-person events and meetings a few times a year.

About District C:

  • We partner with schools, train educators to run Teamship, and support them in delivering it to students.
  • To date, we’ve supported over 8,000 students across 16 states—and we’re just getting started!

About You:

  • You’re a natural galvanizer—someone who moves people to action through compelling communication and authentic connection.
  • You can adapt your message to resonate with a wide range of audiences—from rural brick-and-mortar business owners to startup founders to Fortune 500 executives.
  • You bring urgency, responsiveness, and a strong sense of ownership to everything you do.
  • You’ve driven results in open-ended projects, following through with persistence and adjusting quickly when plans change.
  • You enjoy switching between big-picture strategy and detail-level execution, and thrive in the context of a small, nimble, close-knit team.
  • You are collaborative, seek feedback with humility, and are energized by building something meaningful with others.
  • You believe in the potential of young people and feel a deep alignment with District C’s mission.

  • Work with businesses to scope challenges for student teams, ensuring clarity and authenticity
  • Maintain systems, organizational tools, and workflows to keep the matching process smooth and efficient

Contribute to Strategy and Organizational Growth

  • Join daily and weekly team meetings and help shape our Partnerships strategy
  • Look for opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and resources
  • Pitch in across the organization when needed (small team = wearing many hats!)
